The Surveying Technician will work independently to prepare complex drawings from field data, mentor less experienced technicians, and ensure adherence to CAD procedures while maintaining project schedules.
Design
Responsibilities
Works independently to obtain records & project information
Prepares complex drawings from field data and field sketches using computer-aided drafting software platforms and ensures drawings are accurate and complete
Adheres to company and client standard CAD procedures as mandated
Exercises independent judgment in the execution of surveying deliverables
Communicates ideas for drawing execution, design and layout
Maintains schedules and communicates progress on a daily basis
Mentors less experienced surveying technicians and offers advice & knowledge
Qualification
Required
6+ years previous surveying experience
Valid US driver's license & good driving record
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to operate in a mentor / mentee team atmosphere
Ability to understand and utilize current & new technology
Safety oriented
Excellent communication skills
Positive and collaborative work ethic
Experience with MS Office products (Word & Excel)
Preferred
10+ years previous surveying experience
Expert/advanced understanding of land surveying and geometry
Expert knowledge of AutoCAD C3D and/or MicroStation ORD
CST1 or CST 2 or CST 3 (certified survey technician level 1 or 2 or 3) certification
Experienced with Aerial Drone and 3D Point Cloud scanning technology
