Responsibilities
Performance Prediction and Strategy Development: Together with the Networking and Ground segment leads, develop a life cycle plan for assessing the performance of the Logos system, keyed to each stage of development and deployment maturity, and evolve this plan to support the engineering and business decisions required
Provide Early Evaluation of Network Algorithms: Initially, develop representations of proposed network formation and routing algorithms to support the Networking team in developing and finalizing these decisions, and assessing the impact on other system elements and performance
Mature this Capability: Continue to reflect the network design as it matures into identifying specific data exchanges, message definitions and APIs, continually supporting the network design process
Introduce Hardware performance models and limitations: Mature the network model to more fully reflect the design decisions made for payload, bus and ground segment to fully reflect the system performance
Model System Resource Management: Analyze load balancing and other resource allocation processes throughout the system; algorithms for network optimization, resource allocation, routing, congestion control, quality of service (QoS), and security within the hybrid network environment
Participate in Hardware in the Loop Testing: As elements of the Logos system are fully realized in hardware, expand the tool to participate in HWIL testing and performance analysis to validate the designs, software implementation, and performance predictions
Manage Across Tools: It is likely that the Logos needs will not be met by a single tool, but composites of internal and external tools from vendors and partners. Integrate the best strategy to leverage these resources to support rapid engineering maturation. Work with Vendors and Logos management to make these “Make or Buy” decisions
Scenario Definition and Execution: Define and execute a wide range of evaluation scenarios to evaluate network performance under various conditions, including nominal operations, failure scenarios, and varying traffic loads
Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze evaluation results, identify performance bottlenecks, and provide insightful recommendations for network design improvements and algorithm optimization
Support Technology Evaluation through Simulation: Utilize simulation models to evaluate the feasibility and performance of alternative hardware of software approaches in the Logos system
Manage the Evaluation Team: As Logos scales up the level of detail and complexity of representations, lead a larger team to address these challenges by hiring, mentoring and leading this effort
Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Work closely with network architects, system engineers, and software developers to translate simulation findings into actionable design decisions and implementation strategies
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare clear and concise technical reports, presentations, and documentation summarizing simulation methodologies, results, and recommendations
