This seasonal position involves a variety of tasks including diagnosing malfunctions, performing preventative maintenance, and assisting with various seasonal jobs.

Responsibilities
Assists in the diagnoses of malfunctions and in making repairs and adjustments to all automotive equipment to keep it in good operating condition
Assists in preventative maintenance and repairs to all major systems on trucks, equipment and automobiles owned by the City
Keeps records of repairs and maintenance work
Assists in snow removal and salting, lawn mowing and other seasonal jobs
Assists in street sweeping and removal of dead animals
Assists with putting up barricades and temporary signage
Assists with flood control
Performs related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma (or graduation from high school within nine months of hire)
At least 1 year of specialized training in automobile and equipment mechanics
At least 1 - 3 years of automotive mechanic experience
CDL with A, B, C and N endorsements
Master ASE certification
Valid Wisconsin driver's license
18 years or older
Ability to complete a pre-employment post offer physical including drug test upon hire, and random drug and alcohol tests thereafter
Must provide own hand tools
