Responsibilities
Plans, organizes, and oversees all unit level deployment activities
Configures and maintains functional Unit Type Codes (UTCs) as postured by MAJCOM FAMs (Functional Area Managers) using available unit assets
Performs analysis activities
Establishes metric and system analysis systems for unit and higher level management to assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures
Provides technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding unit deployment program
Advises commander on the direction, management, and operation of all aspects of unit deployment capabilities
Ensures personnel and equipment readiness
Ensures the unit is ready to meet wartime and peacetime mobility taskings by scheduling and tracking unit deployment training
Qualification
Required
You must meet the following Education requirement to qualify for education in lieu of specialized experience for this position: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D
AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a Michigan Air National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment
Applicants who are not currently a member of the Michigan Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Michigan Air National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
May be required to successfully complete a trial period
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
Must have a valid civilian driver's license
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance level
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays
Shift work and compensation time may be required
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position
1 year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled
Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures
