Controls Technician
Brady Services is a leading Trane® independent office providing efficient building solutions in North Carolina. The Controls Technician role involves programming, technical checkout, and owner training for Building Automation projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities
Configure, setup, and calibrate end devices on factory or field installed hardware
Create and program site databases
Utilize Checkout documentation provided by engineering to verify system performance
Examine and troubleshoot communication Links and Local Area Networks
Provide technical assistance to installation sub-contractors as required
Identify, analyze and diagnose BAS and system problems through remote interface means or directly while on site
Ensure documentation procedures are followed as an ongoing process
Maintain accurate and complete project notes that can be used by engineering for As-Built drawings
Ensure project database and graphics database are backed up to network drive at job completion
Provide remote access information for sites to Virtual Service
Represent company by serving as a direct customer contact, working to develop, maintain, and enhance customer relationships
Provide on-site Owner Training Classes for customers
Participate in ongoing training opportunities (TPC, Online webinars, etc.)
Knowledgeable with the products and services offered by Brady and effective in the sales of those products and services
Inspect, maintain, and complete necessary repairs for all company provided materials including fleet vehicle, tools, equipment
Maintain service uniform wear such as hats, shirts, pants, and shoes to ensure compliance with company dress code
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, legal regulations, and recommended best practices
Collaborate with all Associates to uphold the company's mission and values
Travel 50% of the time is required
Qualification
Required
Associates degree in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution
3+ years of related experience
Knowledge and understanding of various communications protocols used in the industry including BACnet, LonTalk and Modbus; familiarity with networking applications, Ethernet, TCP-IP, IP Networks and infrastructure
Proficiency with computer devices (including laptops, tablets, and smart phones) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Apple iOS software
Proficiency with applicable maintenance tools, connected login, and operational renderings
Ability to pass drug screening
Ability to prove US employment eligibility
Must possess a valid drivers license
Preferred
Experience with Trane, Tridium, and/or Teletrol building automation is desired but experience with other control manufacturers such as Johnson Controls, Schneider, Honeywell, Siemens, Distech, etc. will also be considered
