Director of IT Business Applications
Sheppard Pratt is seeking a Director of IT Business Applications to lead and manage their IT Business Applications team. The role involves overseeing the implementation and optimization of enterprise systems across various operational areas, collaborating with stakeholders to provide effective technological solutions, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the IT Business Applications team responsible for supporting enterprise systems across finance, HR, supply chain, and revenue cycle
Oversee the implementation, configuration, integration, and optimization of business applications
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into effective technological solutions
Ensure business applications are compliant with internal policies and external regulations, including HIPAA and financial reporting standards
Develop and maintain application roadmaps, upgrade schedules, and vendor management strategies
Monitor system performance, user satisfaction, and adoption metrics to drive continuous improvement
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve application issues and implement enhancements
Lead business application projects, including new implementations, system upgrades, and process redesigns
Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on application performance, risks, and strategic initiatives
Coordinate with IT infrastructure, clinical applications, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure and reliable application delivery
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and service excellence within the business applications team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in health informatics, information technology, nursing, or a related field required
Minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare IT, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing clinical applications
In-depth knowledge of healthcare business applications such as Athena IDX
Understanding of clinical workflows, patient care processes, and healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH)
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex application environments
Experience leading large-scale clinical application projects, including implementations and upgrades
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage clinical and technical stakeholders
Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
Experience working with third-party vendors and managing support contracts and service levels
Preferred
Master's degree or clinical background preferred
Strong background in revenue cycle preferred
