Responsibilities
Provides technical advice on data analytics and reporting matters; supervises a variety of significant financial analyses to improve both the quality of financial reporting and the effectiveness and efficiency of Division financial activities and operations; prepares special analytical reports for presentation to senior management
Develops quantitative performance measurement criteria and develops reports and special analyses regarding the financial and workforce operations of the Division. Such criteria will include ratios and other types of quantitative measurements based on liquidation collections, expenses, number and type of assets being liquidated and other appropriate information
Communicates directly with senior management on highly complex and sensitive matters related to data analysis projects including communicating findings and recommendations in formal briefings
Supervises Receivership Reporting Section and provides leadership. Reviews progress reports and work products, establishes overall Receivership Reporting objectives, assists in completing annual goals, supports the EEO; and fulfills labor relations responsibilities
Formulates and recommends financial management policies and provides professional leadership and advice to Division officials and staff regarding financial management matters such as financial reporting, management reporting and budgeting
Plans, implements, and manages the financial reporting process designed to provide full disclosure of the financial results of the Division's activities
Oversees the development of budget and operational reports for the Division. Makes recommendations for improvement to Division management, which increases the effectiveness of the controls over the use of the Division's resources
Provides recommendations for changes deemed necessary to improve accounting records and internal control effectiveness within the accounting and financial operations environment to the Deputy Director, Financial Services Branch, and the Assistant Director, Planning & Resource Management
Serves as principal advisor on financial reporting for all receivership and related subsidiary matters to the Chiefs and Deputy Directors throughout the Division
Interviews candidates for positions within Receivership Reporting and makes or recommends selection. Prepares performance standards and performance appraisals and recommends personnel actions such as promotions, awards, reassignments, and disciplinary actions as necessary. Provides instruction and guidance to employees as necessary and recommends appropriate training and staff development for assigned employees
Qualification
Required
Experience in leading and coordinating projects, including establishing expectations, reviewing work products/services, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and feedback to team members
Experience in utilizing current business intelligence best practices and reporting tools (i.e. WebFocus, Tableau, Power Bl, etc.), including the ability to create and maintain complex reports and dashboards
Experience in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Division through data driven decision making. Produces data products used in business intelligence and analysis. Ensures appropriate use of personnel and resources
