OrthoVirginia is Virginia's largest provider of expert orthopedic and therapy care, currently seeking a full-time Scribe to join their team. The Scribe will assist the orthopedic physician by recording all aspects of patient encounters during office visits, generating detailed electronic documents without directly performing patient care.

Responsibilities

Record details of the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, physical exam, comorbid conditions, medications and allergies
Record details of the physical exam including pertinent positives, negatives and noted abnormalities
Record sufficient information in the physician's assessment and plan based on the level of complexity

Qualification

Musculoskeletal anatomyMedical terminologyTyping skillsCommunication skillsBachelor's degreeMedical office experienceCPR certificationProfessional license

Required

Proficient knowledge in musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology
Knowledge in general medical terminology, conditions, and interactions
Proficient computer and typing skills (> 60wpm preferred)
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred; Athletic Training, Nursing, Pre-Medicine or related field preferred
Medical office experience preferred
CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Professional license preferred (i.e. ATC, RN, LPN, EMT)
