Outpatient Coding Auditor
UASI is an award-winning company seeking an experienced Facility Outpatient Coding Auditor to join their remote team. The role involves performing coding quality audits and providing education and feedback to coding staff, as well as developing training content and presenting seminars.

Responsibilities
Performs coding quality audits and reviews on a variety of facility outpatient records including but not limited to: same day surgery, observations and ED
Provides feedback and education to coding staff
Extracts clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate procedural terminology and medical codes (e.g., ICD-10-CM, CPT) to patient records
Assists in developing educational training content and materials for coding staff
Presents educational seminars to clients and staff
Work with other members of the Consulting Division on Senior Level Projects such as assessment and analysis, development of tools to assist in the audit process, develop coding test material for applicants and develop coding content for short articles with coding advice for clients
Qualification
Required
AHIMA or AAPC certification
2-3 years' minimum experience performing facility outpatient audits
Experience in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCC as well as procedural/surgical coding
Ability to assemble final reporting
Ability to participate in client facing discussions regarding audit findings
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with confidence on site and via webinar/conference calls
