InternGAI Consultants, Inc. is an engineering, planning and environmental consulting firm providing local expertise to worldwide clients. They are seeking a Substation Drafter Intern to assist with CAD work and project support under engineering supervision, focusing on electrical substation and protections & controls design services.

Responsibilities
Opening, revising, plotting, and saving of drawing CAD files
Create new drawings from templates from scratch with title blocks and border drawing blocks
Create and modify drawing blocks, borders, and title blocks
Provide direction for compiling, collating, assembling, and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages
Advanced use of scaling with model and paper space
Ability to use style and formatting in CAD software
Advanced knowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package
Advanced ISO view and 3-D view drawing depictions
Assist CAD technicians and CAD operators in the development of their skills
BIM experience preferred
Support project tasks as needed
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in a 2 year associates degree program
Enrolled in a program to receive a associate's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, preferably electrical engineering
Must have good skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
Required mathematical skills are commensurate with the technical or engineering discipline practiced (e.g., engineering calculations, design, etc.)
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of basic computer systems and software packages
Willingness to learn software that is specific to Power Delivery Industry
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical reports and procedures, and governmental regulations
Ability to write reports and other business correspondence
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other staff members
Preferred
BIM experience preferred
Experience with drafting programs, particularly AutoCAD and Revit is preferred
Associates or better in Drafting or related field
