Agriculture Loan Officer (SW Arkansas -SE Oklahoma)

First Financial Bank is seeking an Agriculture Loan Officer in the Ag Poultry Division. This role is primarily responsible for providing loans in compliance with financial institution policies and supervising daily operations at the home office.

Responsibilities

Interviews poultry loan applicants and orders credit reports
Requests specified information for poultry loan application
Notifies applicant of poultry loan decision
Corresponds with customers, applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information
Recommend and outline terms of poultry loan
Inform prospective borrowers of poultry loan commitments
Develops and maintains interest rate structure that is consistent with financial institution policies and is competitive with current market
Reviews developing law and regulations as they apply to loan agreements
Manages delinquent account files for the financial institution
Assist in training of Loan Assistant
Cross sells all bank services
Handles various department file maintenance in order to secure proper regulatory requirements
Maintains full knowledge of all computer programs utilized in the loan department
Position also requires occasional travel to other locations to meet with potential and current poultry clients
Business Development duties include gathering and analyzing data and making contacts with potential customers to provide new loan business to the Bank
Loan responsibilities include gathering the appropriate documents from a business to analyze its cash flow and business goals and determine if they meet the company’s guidelines

Required

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior banking and lending experience preferred
Successful candidate must have an agricultural background plus banking/loan experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Good understanding and knowledge of financial institution products and services
Good cross-selling, management and organizational skills
Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
Must have the ability to learn other various computer software programs
Must be able to analyze and interpret computer-related issues
Lending: 1 year (Required)
Agriculture: 1 year (Required)
