Controls Engineer- Maintenance, 2nd Shift

Maker's Pride is a company focused on development and implementation of electrical controls. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for programming, testing, and training the Maintenance department on various control systems while also assisting with troubleshooting and upgrades of equipment.

Responsibilities

Develop, test and implement all programming and electrical controls on oven and packaging equipment. This includes, but is not limited to all programmable controller platforms, graphical user interface platforms, gateways and debugging when necessary
Develop AC/DC electrical schematics
Electrical System design and implementation
Project management
Print library/archive management
NFPA 70E Arc Flash program management
Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs on oven and packaging equipment from 24 volt DC to 480 volt AC
Assist with equipment control upgrades, troubleshooting and installation
Train the Maintenance department on all electrical control systems
Perform safety audits and checks on oven and packaging equipment
Develop and maintain documentation of assigned projects and equipment repairs through work orders
Maintain current backup files of equipment programs
Provide hands-on support in diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment and components beyond control systems when needed

Required

Minimum three years electrical/programming design and implementation, project management, NFPA 70E program exposure, electrical/programming shop floor assistance/training
Must be detailed-oriented, be self-directed, have strong self-confidence and have excellent oral communication skills
Must be able to uphold Maker's Pride's mission, vision and values on a daily basis
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards
Knowledge of NFPA 70E Arc Flash program
Demonstrated proficiency in electrical knowledge including AC/DC circuits, motor controls and troubleshooting/repair of up to 480 volt systems
Demonstrated proficiency in PLC-GUI programming, controls design and implementation
Demonstrated proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC software, Gateways, Ladder Logic, Panel View, RS Logic 500 software, Servos, VFD(s), Studio 5000, Device Net, Advanced Controls and Wonderware
Basic IT trouble-shooting experience
Factory Talk View experience with the ability to build, install and trouble-shoot
Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple projects and training coworkers
Ability to stand on one's feet for up to 8 hours (with breaks), walk, use hands to handle, feel and select objects (manual dexterity), grip, frequently reach with hands and arms, bend, twist, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see, talk and hear
Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus
Position requires the ability to occasionally work in high temperature areas
Position requires the ability to occasionally work at heights more than 2' from the ground
Position requires the ability to occasionally work around very strong magnetics

Preferred

Knowledge and experience with CMMS programs. MVP or SAP nice to have
