Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive academic advising, counseling, and mentoring to students enrolling into the Hispanic program at Azusa Pacific Seminary
Mentor and guide students as they progress through their academic paths, offering support and resources to facilitate their success
Assist students in navigating the transition from LPU (Lower Program University) to APU’s doctoral program, ensuring a seamless integration into higher-level academic pursuits
Facilitate the transition of students from LABI (Lower Academic Institution) to APU’s master’s programs, offering guidance and support every step of the way
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing student success and retention
Maintain accurate records of student progress and interactions, utilizing data to inform decision-making and improve program effectiveness
Stay current on trends and best practices in academic advising and student support services, continuously seeking opportunities for professional development and growth

Required

Bachelor's degree in religion, education, counseling, psychology, or related field
Previous experience in academic advising, counseling, or student support services
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and connect with students from diverse backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic and personalized support to students, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
Willing to learn academic policies, procedures, and resources, with a commitment to promoting student success and retention
In agreement with the purpose and goals of Azusa Pacific University in providing a Christian-based higher education for its students
Proficient in Google Apps., Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel

Preferred

Master's degree
Bilingual in Spanish and English
