Infection Control Epidemiologist III

Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center is seeking an Infection Control Epidemiologist III to lead the Infection Prevention program. Responsibilities

Implementing the infection prevention program in respective areas of responsibility
Supporting other ICEs to ensure team goals are met
Conducting surveillance, providing education, and leading performance improvement initiatives
Managing outbreaks and exposures, and promoting antimicrobial stewardship
Training, guiding, and mentoring other staff in infection prevention activities
Evaluating policies, procedures, and practices relating to infection prevention and control
Utilizing advanced knowledge of epidemiology and infectious diseases

Required

Bachelor's degree required in a related field
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required
Requires a minimum of three years of experience as an infection preventionist in a healthcare setting
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of infection prevention and control, epidemiology, microbiology, clinical practice related to infection prevention, evidenced- based infection prevention measures, healthcare- associated infections, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization, adult education, regulatory requirements and implementation science

Preferred

Master's degree in Public Health or a related discipline preferred
Additional years of infection prevention or related work experience preferred
Related experience includes Nursing, Microbiology, Epidemiology, Emergency Preparedness, Health Education or Public Health with evidence of experience in healthcare-associated infection surveillance, training and education, leading performance improvement initiatives, project management, team and consensus-building, exerting influence to effect change, emergency preparedness, managing outbreaks and exposures, mentoring, coaching and/or leading teams to achieve specific outcomes
