Responsibilities
Create Extrusion die and tooling designs from existing product design utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems
Provide machining programs to the CNC Department and oversee tooling fabrication
Work with Extrusion Engineers to develop profiles that are able to be processed in extrusion and finishing with the maximum allowable tolerance while still meeting customer requirements and expectations
Troubleshoot Extrusion die and tooling issues with Extrusion Engineer to solution
Work with Product and Extrusion Engineer to develop design/process changes to increase productivity and reduce cost, scrap and risk assessment associated
Maintain and organize design files
Create product mylars and manage updates
Support of Extrusion Engineer by actively pursuing Tooling improvements to reduce process variables and improve quality of product
Responsible to keep Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering aware of any issues encountered that may affect safety, quality, cost and productivity
Qualification
Required
Professional knowledge / skills normally acquired through the completion of Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Previous experience in CAD/CAM and GD & T
Preferred
Prefer 3-5 years rubber experience in a Tier 1 automotive supplier
Prefer experience in Siemens PLM
