Responsibilities

Implements manufacturing objectives consistent with existing sales, projected sales forecasts, inventory requirements, and other factors involved

Maintains an effective organization through selection, training, compensation, and motivation of all personnel. Develops management talents necessary to obtain short- and long-range goals by effective direction, counseling, and training. Provides input for organization structure and manning requirements

Maintains the necessary communication and coordination with pertinent officials within the corporate office and other divisions

Monitors operating conditions and manufacturing schedules on a frequent basis and through frequent contacts with Production, Sales, and Materials Departments and suggests more desirable conditions or levels of operations to meet inventory or sales demands

Recommends improved manufacturing methods, layouts, equipment, and techniques and submits recommendations for approval. Conducts a continuous cost reduction program through the plant

Directs those activities that provide assurance that safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations are met or exceeded

Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies

Projects a positive image to peers and subordinates, to the customers we serve, to the industry in which we participate, and to the community in which we live by producing a cost-efficient, quality product in a productive environment

Oversees all production shifts

Has 3 direct reports

Maintains departmental Gemba and Hour-By-Hour boards

Required

Requires a Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering, Business Management or Industrial Engineering or possess equivalent knowledge through experience or other educational competencies

At least three to five years' experience in management, and/or operations management. Manufacturing environment is most helpful

Familiarity with computer software: Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point. Knowledge of AutoCad

Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO14001 is a plus

Must have strong interpersonal, technical, business, and managerial skills

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to manage multiple task priorities

Preferred

Thorough knowledge of quality control systems, management principles and practices, manufacturing processes, equipment and scheduling and inventory control methods
