Mechanical Quality Control - 2nd shift

IES Infrastructure is committed to quality and safety, and they are seeking a Mechanical Quality Inspector to perform inspections and testing during the production process. The role ensures that products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.

Responsibilities

Perform in-process and final inspections on production floor and completed units
Conduct quality checks as assigned, including:
In-process inspections
Final product inspections
Gauge sign-in/out for production use
Assist in customer-required testing procedures, such as:
Sound testing
Water testing
Operational/run testing
Support production by addressing engineering and customer-related quality concerns
Maintain inventory of quality-related materials (e.g., tags, zip ties, documentation)
Use and maintain measuring tools and inspection instruments
Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and safety standards
Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager or their designer

Required

High School Diploma/GED
Must possess excellent communication and listening skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
Strong attention to detail and visual acuity
Solid understanding of quality assurance and control processes
Good communication skills; able to work well with production teams and management
Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when needed
Proficient in using basic measurement tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.)
Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems
Working knowledge of Microsoft Planner
Experience with quality auditing procedures
Demonstrate ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure (test will be required)
Ability to handle small tools, gauges, and equipment for inspection tasks, including signing in/out of gauges, point-to-point testing, and other precision tasks
Must maintain focus and attention to detail even in potentially noisy or busy environments while performing inspections and assessments
Must be able to clearly communicate issues or concerns with both production personnel and management, which may involve verbal and written communication

Preferred

Background in welding, sheet metal, or mechanical systems (preferred but not required)
