Instrumentation and Control Technician
Williams College is seeking an Instrumentation and Control Technician to oversee the operation of equipment at their Combined Heat and Power Facility. The role involves providing technical expertise, leading maintenance tasks, and ensuring safety and compliance within the facility.

Responsibilities
Direct and lead the maintenance of the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) facility at Williams College, including the Steam Turbine Generator, Diesel Generators, Steam Boilers, and Siemens Software Systems
Calibrate pneumatic and electronic control valves, and annually calibrate all transmitters within the CHP facility
Maintain air compressors, air dryers, and related equipment in order to provide uninterrupted service of instrument air and plant air, taking necessary readings, data, and logging same
Coordinate the daily maintenance work required to maintain plant availability
Work with outside vendors to learn and maintain current software systems and programs used for controlling plant equipment, including tuning of controls and valves. This may require offsite schooling and trainings
Maintain a thorough knowledge of all the power plant systems, operations, and emergency response procedures and when necessary, access the appropriate plant manuals
Establish high standards and assist with training of instrumentation and controls to plant employees
Communicate with outside departments and shifts both internally and externally
Ensure the safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, and economic operation of the plant
Ensure compliance with applicable plant operating procedures and policies
Ensure proper 'Lock-out/Tag-out' procedures are followed, logged, and administered per plant policy procedures, including monitoring the work status
Ensure that all personnel within the plant (Williams employees, contractors, etc.) adhere to all safety guidelines
Qualification
Required
Must hold a current Massachusetts Hoisting License classifications 1C and 3A
Possess a current Massachusetts 2nd Class Engineers License or higher
Licensed Electrician in the state of Massachusetts
Must hold a valid driver license
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to use hand and power tools, multimeters, and specialized tools as required
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally
Ability to lift 50 pounds and remain active for 12 hour periods
Ability to navigate throughout the heating plant and multiple levels using stairs and ladder climbing
