Senior Director of Transition and Employment Services
Heartshare is dedicated to improving the lives of people needing special services and support. They are seeking a Senior Director of Transition and Employment Services who will oversee the Employment department and develop partnerships for employment opportunities, ensuring high-quality services for individuals.

Responsibilities
Develop partnerships in the community for employment
Work with both local and extended community corporations and businesses for both employment and internship opportunities
Work with Heartshare’s Marketing and development department to create partnerships, internships and experiences
Provide continuous oversight for all the employment programs
Ensure that the services provided are of high quality and meet the diverse physical, social, developmental, and appropriate needs of the individuals
Ensure that there is adequate protection of each program participant’s health, safety, comfort, well-being, and civil, human and legal rights
Ensure that the program’s physical plant is always clean and well-maintained. Work with appropriate personnel within HeartShare, as well as the building’s landlord and outside vendors, to promptly handle physical plant issues
Maintain a current table of organization that clearly delineates lines of authority and responsibility for program administration and oversight when supervisors are absent
Ensure Asst. director maintains Policies & Procedures governing the day-to-day operation of the Employment Programs, including admission and discharge procedures
Provide oversight of the smooth and effective functioning of the Program Planning Team process throughout the Employment Services Program
Provide oversight to ensure all Heartshare policies for billing, attendance, monthlies, Pcare and precision care guidelines are followed by staff and oversees and ensures these are completed during the required time frame
Ensures the QA plan that has been developed for that site if followed
Responds and completes all follow up for Incidents and occurrences within the required time frame
Responds and completes all audit citations for both OPWDD and Heartshare within the given time frame
Serve as a role model for individuals and staff. Abide by agency dress code. Always conduct oneself in a professional manner. Avoid gossip and negative discussions
Remain sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of agency service recipients and staff
Participate in in-service training and on-site workshops, as required, for professional growth and development. Attend external training and workshops as appropriate
Represent HeartShare, both within and outside the organization, in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of the agency. Personally adhere to all agency policies and procedures
Using positive approaches when handling difficult situations; avoiding gossip and negative discussions; and being flexible in adapting to change
Undertaking any additional tasks and initiatives as assigned by the Vice President of Day Services
Ensure Medicaid required documents are in Pcare and review Spreadsheet with all information
Maintain required Medicaid information and audits
Ensure all required documents for billing SEMP, Pathways, EPT, and Prevocational are in Pcare and required paper work and reports for people we serve are sent to OPWDD
Ensure all required reports are sent to OPWDD as required
Along with the QIDP and the VP of Day Services Department, meet and exceed all regulatory standards, and that program staff follow all state and federal regulations, as well as HeartShare’s internal policies and procedures
Ensure all staff take the required trainings as designated by OPWDD and HeartShare
Ensure all staff within the first 18 months of employment complete the 22-credit requirement from Eleversity
Participating in the interviewing, hiring and initial in-service orientation of new Staff. Providing ongoing and timely supervision of assigned staff, including quarterly observations
Qualification
Required
Master's Degrees in Developmental Disabilities, Education, Psychology Social work Human Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field required
Minimum five years' experience with supervising Supportive Employment, Customized Employment, Pre -Vocational and related programs in the OPWDD system for special needs populations
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including assisting with grant writing
Highly energetic, focused and accountable. Ability to work well with all levels of staff
Extensive knowledge of OPWDD Supported employment, Pre-Vocational, ETP and Pathways to employment service regulations
