Electrical Project Engineer

The Electrical Project Engineer will work within a fast-paced environment, collaborating with senior engineering staff on the design and commissioning of various electrical systems for facilities projects.

Responsibilities

Perform design computations
Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
Develop construction cost estimates
Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates
Attend meetings with clients
Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
5-10 years' experience related to electrical power distribution, power generation, motor controls, lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm design, telecommunications network design, or security systems design
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of Autodesk's CADD and Autodesk's Revit
Proficient in discipline specific design software
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced cooperative team environment spanning across multiple offices
Desire to participate and excel with a broad range of project types, roles, customers, and tasks
Understanding and application of NEC, IBC, and NFPA codes for completing electrical design work

Preferred

Professional Engineer License
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
Working knowledge of Bentley's Microstation
Working knowledge of Electrical Modeling Software, SKM Power Tools or ETAP
Working knowledge of Lighting Modeling Software, AGi32 or ElumTools
Familiarity with electrical testing apparatus
Experience working with federal, state, and local government agencies
Experience with federal, state, and local codes
Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
