Worthington Steel is seeking a Lab Technician Intern to perform material testing on flat rolled steel products. This part-time position supports production certifications, product development, and investigative efforts, with opportunities for full-time employment upon degree completion.

Responsibilities

Perform metallurgical tests specified by the Technical Service Managers and production Quality Control

Mechanical property testing

Metallographic testing

Spectrometric chemical analyses

Responsible for data integrity and shipment certifications

Complete investigative projects assigned by the metallurgical engineering staff pertaining to flat rolled steel products and processes (i.e. DOE, data collection, testing, analyses, reporting)

Required

Current student actively pursuing a B.S. in Engineering

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred

Materials Science and Engineering preferred

Expected graduation of Spring 2027 or later is ideal
