Responsibilities

Utilize hand tools, heavy machinery, and specialized equipment to assist in the installation and maintenance of critical structural components deep underground
Work one mile underground, assisting in the installation of complex detector systems, including cabling, safety systems, and communications infrastructure
Operate cranes, hoists, and other heavy machinery to move large components within cleanroom and cryostat areas
Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and researchers in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently
Use your construction background to assist with testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems, ensuring that everything operates smoothly in this challenging environment
Adhere to strict safety regulations in all aspects of your work, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and your teammates
Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians, contributing to the development of a strong, collaborative team

Required

Industrial/Commercial Construction Experience: Previous hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery in an industrial or commercial construction environment
Mechanical and Electrical Know-How: Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical systems with the ability to adapt your skills to the scientific environment
Problem Solvers: Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues that arise in a fast-paced, dynamic setting
Safety-Focused: Experience adhering to strict safety standards and protocols in challenging environments, especially when working with heavy machinery and at heights
Willingness to Learn: A commitment to learning about the science behind the project and adapting your skills to meet the needs of the LBNF/DUNE Project
