Digital Enablement Specialist (Business Development Representative)

They are seeking a tech-savvy Digital Enablement Specialist to drive sales through innovative prospecting and outreach, focusing on engaging potential partners using digital channels and AI-powered tools.

Responsibilities
Proactively source and identify potential convenience store and retail partners (independent stores, franchisees, and enterprise chains) through research and use of digital tools. Build prospect lists leveraging resources like industry databases, LinkedIn, and AI-powered research tools
Execute personalized outreach campaigns across email, phone, social media, and other digital channels to initiate conversations with prospects. Use AI tools (e.g., generative AI for email drafting and social outreach) to tailor messaging that resonates with each prospect’s business needs and pain points
Conduct initial discovery calls or email conversations to assess prospect fit and interest. Qualify inbound inquiries and marketing-generated leads, effectively articulating Lula’s value proposition for convenience retailers
Nurture interested leads through regular follow-ups, providing additional information and resources to educate prospects about Lula Commerce. Schedule product demos or meetings with senior sales executives for highly qualified leads
Manage and optimize sales outreach sequences using automation tools (such as sales engagement platforms or CRM workflows). Continuously experiment with new tools and AI-driven techniques to improve efficiency and response rates (e.g., AI-assisted lead scoring, chatbots for initial outreach, etc.)
Work closely with the marketing team to align on messaging, target segments, and campaigns (for example, coordinating on email marketing initiatives or content offers for lead generation). Provide feedback on common prospect objections or questions to refine marketing materials and strategy. Team up with the enterprise sales and account executive team to ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunities and share insights from the frontlines of prospecting
Track all activities and prospect interactions diligently in the CRM (HubSpot). Monitor outreach metrics (open rates, response rates, conversion rates) and analyze data to identify trends and optimize outreach strategies. Present regular updates on lead pipeline and performance against KPIs (such as number of meetings booked or opportunities created)
Stay informed about the convenience retail industry – including new store openings, franchise expansions, and market trends – to identify opportunities for outreach. Share intelligence on competitor offerings or announcements that you uncover during prospecting to help shape sales positioning
While this role is primarily digital and remote, occasionally represent Lula Commerce at virtual and in-person events or trade shows (as needed) to assist in lead generation efforts and build industry connections
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in a business development, sales development, or related lead generation role (preferably in B2B SaaS, tech, or retail technology environments)
Proven success in generating and qualifying leads, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets for appointments, demos, or sales opportunities created
Digital Outreach Skills: Hands-on experience with modern sales tools and techniques – including CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot), sales engagement platforms (Outreach, Salesloft or similar), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and email marketing tools. Ability to leverage social media and other online platforms for prospecting is essential
AI Proficiency: Familiarity with AI-driven sales tools or willingness to learn quickly (for example, using AI for prospect research, content generation, or task automation). You actively incorporate technology to work smarter and more efficiently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to craft concise, compelling messages for email and social outreach, and comfortable making cold calls to engage prospects in conversation
Strong organizational and time-management abilities – capable of managing a high volume of leads and follow-ups without letting opportunities slip through the cracks
Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze outreach results and adjust tactics accordingly. Proficient in using spreadsheets or basic analytics to interpret campaign performance
Customer-Centric Approach: Genuine curiosity and empathy for independent retailers and convenience store owners. You enjoy learning about their challenges and can effectively communicate how Lula Commerce's solutions address those needs
Self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable. Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and taking initiative to propose new ideas or approaches to improve our outreach and lead generation
Comfortable excelling as a fully remote team member, collaborating via video, chat, and other digital communication tools
Preferred
Experience in or knowledge of the convenience retail industry or franchise-based businesses is a plus (e.g., selling to small businesses, franchise owners, or multi-unit operators)
