River and Stream Restoration Engineer
Gomez and Sullivan Engineers is a growing, employee-owned engineering and environmental science company focused on renewable energy and environmental restoration. They are seeking a River and Stream Restoration Engineer responsible for project management and engineering design for restoration projects, hydropower licensing, and technical guidance for junior engineers.

Responsibilities
Development and review (QA/QC) of feasibility studies, design plans and specifications, quantity take-offs, engineering cost estimates, construction sequencing plans, and permit applications
Preparation of supporting design reports to document engineering calculations and design, leading of design teams, and coordination with affected disciplines
Management of bidding and construction phase services
Leading of technical discussions with regulators and clients as well as public meetings
Technical writing for project documents, as well as review of junior engineers’ technical writing
Technical guidance and mentoring for junior engineers in their project work and development
Management of projects, budgets, scopes, and schedules
Interactions with clients, project partners, agencies, and stakeholders
Marketing of professional services, proposal writing, cost estimating, and project scheduling
Qualification
Required
5-10 years of experience
Experience in Civil/Site Design, H&H Analyses, Project Management, Stream Assessment/Restoration
Licensed Professional Engineer
Training in civil and/or water resources engineering
At least one year of direct experience managing river restoration or related water resources projects
Development and review (QA/QC) of feasibility studies, design plans and specifications, quantity take-offs, engineering cost estimates, construction sequencing plans, and permit applications
Preparation of supporting design reports to document engineering calculations and design, leading of design teams, and coordination with affected disciplines
Management of bidding and construction phase services
Leading of technical discussions with regulators and clients as well as public meetings
Technical writing for project documents, as well as review of junior engineers' technical writing

BS in civil engineering
Registered as a Professional Engineer and committed to maintaining registrations in multiple northeastern states to support our regional business practice
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in evaluation and design of civil projects
Experience in specification writing, cost estimating, permitting, bidding and construction phase services
Experience in hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and/or geotechnical analysis/design desired
Experience in design of stream restoration projects, fish passage structures, habitat improvements, recreational facilities, roads, earthworks, dredging, stormwater, and/or flood control projects desired
Proficient with design software such as AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil3D
Proficient with GIS software such as ESRI
Proficient with HEC-RAS
Proficient with MS Office software
Preferred
MS in civil engineering
Experience in hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and/or geotechnical analysis/design desired
Experience in design of stream restoration projects, fish passage structures, habitat improvements, recreational facilities, roads, earthworks, dredging, stormwater, and/or flood control projects desired
