Financial Research Administrator

The Department of Neurology is seeking a Financial Research Administrator to manage complex financial portfolios and provide support for Principal Investigators in grant and contract management.

Responsibilities
Manage complex financial portfolios to provide outstanding support for Principal Investigators (PIs)
Independently manage research awards and transactions related to contract and grant management, including reports for approval by managers and Authorized Organizational Representatives
Analyze revenue and expenses against budgets, develop projections, and produce financial reports to manage projects strategically and in compliance with all applicable guidelines
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related area and /or equivalent experience / training
5 or more years relevant progressive experience
Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills
Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines
Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service
Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software
Preferred
Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management
Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees
Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting
