Assistant Controller

Responsibilities
Own the monthly general ledger closing and reconciliation process
Support development of annual operating plans, forecasts, and conduct variance analysis for the location
Lead the completion of monthly financial control procedures to ensure the location meets Howmet audit/ASAT/SOX requirements
Provide accurate and timely reporting/forecasting/planning for the location
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and sharing of best practices
Provide support on an as needed basis for financial and control audits for both internal and external auditors
Support development of tools/reports to facilitate financial, commercial, and operational improvements
Lead development of tools/reports to facilitate operations to meet the financial plan
Ensure strict adherence to code of conduct and corporate policy
Create an environment where systems are used to accurately plan, forecast, and deliver according to expectations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited institution
Formal training and in-depth experience in cost accounting, financial accounting, local, state, and federal tax regulations, and financial analysis & reporting
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Strong decision-making skills: incumbent needs to analyze and synthesize data, and be able to make decisions without having complete information
Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements
Sound judgment and appropriate level of risk for the situation at hand
Expert user of Microsoft Office products
Experience with ERP systems
