Solutions Engineer

The Solutions Engineer will collaborate with various teams to develop bid strategies, prepare estimates, and present technical solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction and competitive advantage in the market.

Responsibilities
Maintain strict adherence to all company safety rules, regulations, procedures and practices
Develop project solutions to bring value to existing customers and a competitive advantage to bid situations
Develop and deliver technical proposals to customers
Prepare cost estimates and proposals for HVAC systems for commercial projects (i.e., installations, retrofits, and equipment replacements)
Perform field surveys and collaborate with the operations team to confirm scope logistics and validate estimates
Support sales and operations for project opportunities. Specifically, focus on design-build, more complex opportunities, and opportunities where there is potential for operational and/or energy pay-backs
Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with owner-direct customers and general contractors, as well as create strong partnerships with select engineers and vendors
Develop trusting relationships with customers and ensure customers have positive relationships with as many ColonialWebb personnel as possible
Participate in community and industry associated networking organizations
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualification
Required
Possess strong technical and mechanical knowledge of HVAC, ductwork, plumbing and piping systems
Possess ability to read blueprints, drawings and specifications
Demonstrate understanding of building materials, engineering standards and codes
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and the ability to interpret computerized cost data
Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with internal and external customers
Ability to demonstrate foresight and problem-solving skills to make sound business decisions
Ability to work independently without direct supervision
Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner
Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and remain calm when handling emergencies
Ability to travel as necessary to jobs and meetings
