Volunteer Receptionist

Good News Home Inc. is a nonprofit organization supporting women in recovery, and they are seeking a Volunteer Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for visitors. This role involves greeting clients, managing communications, and supporting the administrative functions of the organization.

Responsibilities

Greet visitors and clients with a calm, welcoming presence
Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls and emails professionally
Notify staff of guest arrivals and coordinate basic visitor flow
Maintain an organized, attractive reception area with supplies and informational materials
Receive, sort, and distribute mail and deliveries
Support clerical tasks: filing, photocopying, transcribing, basic data entry, and preparing simple documents
Provide accurate information about programs, intake procedures, and events within established guidelines

Required

Friendly, mature demeanor with excellent verbal communication and phone skills
Basic computer skills; comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a regular volunteer schedule

Preferred

Prior office, customer service, or receptionist experience preferred
