Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack - Active Grid Response
Gridware is a San Francisco-based technology company dedicated to protecting and enhancing the electrical grid. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of systems for real-time fault detection on the power grid, integrating machine learning models with human workflows and ensuring efficient operation of their fault detection platform.

Responsibilities
Design and build real-time, event-driven systems that power our grid fault detection platform
Integrate machine learning pipelines with human-in-the-loop workflows for efficient fault classification and escalation
Develop scalable backend services to manage data ingestion, processing, and reporting across a growing device fleet
Collaborate cross-functionally with data science, firmware, and operations teams to ensure high signal accuracy and uptime
Implement observability and monitoring tools to ensure system performance, reliability, and transparency at scale
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional software engineering experience at product-driven companies
Experience designing or maintaining distributed or real-time systems
Strong proficiency in Python, React, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL
Ability to thrive in a low-structure, high-autonomy environment with competing priorities
Proven experience building from the ground up with broad ownership
Preferred
Experience developing real-time, event-driven, or human-in-the-loop platforms
Familiarity with observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Mimir, etc.)
Experience working in hardware–software integrated systems where uptime and reliability are critical
