Assistant Pressperson
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is seeking an Assistant Pressperson to join their Offset/Lepe Printing Division. In this role, you will perform various tasks associated with printing technologies to support the United States Currency Program (USCP) and assist with the preparation and operation of production equipment.

Responsibilities
Monitor the Optical Camera Recognition (OCR) displays to ensure the correct product sequence, correct note cutting, correct serial number and label sequence
Monitor and adjust the product flow of layers out of the delivery and onward through cutting and packaging
Ensure bander rolls, plastic and label systems monitored, and materials are replaced as consumed
Monitor and adjust the feeder to maintain continuous operation, aerates loads and prepares (i.e., jogs) them to be placed into feeder
Qualification
Required
Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
Experience working in a printing plant environment under the close direction of a supervisor
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision
Operation of LEPE Press
Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (other than blueprints)
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
Heavy Lifting, 45 pounds and over
Moderate carrying, 15-44 pounds
Straight pulling, up to 8 hours
Pulling hand over hand, up to 8 hours
Pushing, up to 8 hours
Reaching above shoulder
Use of fingers
Both hands required
Walking, up to 8 hours
Performing motor dexterity and hand-eye coordination while operating high-speed processing and low speed equipment
Working around hot surface
Carrying and pushing large heavy containers filled with bundles bricks of currency, some work may be performed on slippery, uneven, and unsteady surfaces
Standing, up to 8 hours
Kneeling, up to 3 hours
Repeated bending, up to 8 hours
Climbing
Both legs required
Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously
Ability to distinguish basic colors
Operation of motorized pallet or jack/lift
Ability to continually stoop, bend upper body, and lift items that weigh up to 50 pounds over a long duration time
