Responsibilities
Leading geotechnical aspects associated with the design of shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, and slope stabilizing measures
Coordination and generation of geotechnical-based specifications
Preparation of data, baseline, and interpretative reports
Qualification
Required
BS in Civil or Geological Engineering
10-15 years of geotechnical consulting experience
Professional Engineering (PE) license
Experience with TDOT projects and standards
Ability and willingness to visit and safely navigate construction and project sites and comply with all applicable safety codes and requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with exploration methods, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, and laboratory testing of soil and rock
Knowledge of the process to design shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, and slope improvement
Preparation of technical reports, design drawings, and specifications
Proficient with Microstation and/or AutoCAD
Familiarity with computer programs for geotechnical analyses, such as SLIDE, SETTLE3D, LPILE, APILE, Shaft, FB Multipier, DeepEx, and GRLWEAP
Preferred
MS with concentration in Geotechnical Engineering
