Mid-Career Engineer - Water/Wastewater Design | $10K Welcome Bonus!
CDM Smith is a company that focuses on designing systems to improve lives and strengthen communities. They are seeking a Mid-Career Engineer to design critical infrastructure for water and wastewater projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
Develop engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and pump stations under limited supervision
Review designs and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and uphold CDM Smith’s commitment to quality and safety
Partner with sales teams on proposals, meet with clients to understand evolving needs, and contribute thought leadership through technical papers and industry publications
Provide guidance to junior engineers, foster growth, and share knowledge through training and mentorship
Attend conferences and symposia to represent CDM Smith and stay at the forefront of industry trends
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline
Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer)
5 years of related experience
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Domestic and/or international travel may be required
Preferred
Strong design experience in pipe and plant work for municipal water/wastewater infrastructure
Ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and deliver practical, sustainable solutions
Passion for collaboration and client engagement
Drive to innovate and contribute to technical knowledge through research and publications
