Power I&C Technician

Potomac Testing, through its Technical Diagnostic Services division, is a leading provider of service solutions in the Power Generation and Industrial sectors. They are seeking a skilled Power I&C Technician to support a major outage at a combined-cycle power plant, focusing on the assembly, installation, and maintenance of industrial instrumentation and control systems.

Responsibilities

Assemble, construct, install, and maintain industrial instrumentation and digital control systems & related infrastructure according to specifications
Safely use hand and power tools, metering equipment, and precision instruments
Collaborate with team members to complete projects within defined timelines
Follow safety protocols and adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used

Required

Proven experience as an Instrumentation & Controls Technician in an industrial environment with a focus on the assembly, construction, installation, and maintenance/ troubleshooting of heavy industrial instrumentation and controls equipment
Strong electrical aptitude, understanding of power systems and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in using hand and power tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols
Minimum of 5+ years' Experience in Industrial Instrumentation and Controls construction and/ or maintenance within Power Generation Facilities/ preferably combined-cycle plants
Knowledge of industry-specific electrical code, regulations, and/ or standards
This job involves both indoor and outdoor work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, carry and/or move up to 75 pounds repeatedly
Climb ladders, staircases, step stools, stand, walk, sit, and operate vehicles for extended periods
Bend, stoop, crawl and work in awkward positions or confined spaces for several hours
