Growth Leads is seeking an experienced iGaming Lead Editor to take full editorial ownership of their digital platform, focusing on iGaming and safer gambling content as well as US sports coverage. The role involves writing, editing, and managing a team to produce high-quality content while ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing for SEO.

Responsibilities

Produce and oversee high-quality iGaming and sports betting content, including industry news, guides, comparisons, and operator reviews across key markets and verticals

Lead editorial coverage of US sports, with a focus on betting picks, writing and producing timely, insightful, and compliant stories (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA, etc.)

Run the “Hot Desk” to react quickly to breaking news and trending topics with original coverage as part of our Google News/Discover strategy

Develop and maintain content calendars for major sporting events, iGaming seasonal campaigns, and key product launches

Edit submissions from journalists and freelance contributors to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all content types

Manage iGaming guides, sports betting insights, editorial news, and affiliate-focused content, ensuring consistent quality and alignment with brand tone and voice while supporting style and commercial objectives

Optimize content for SEO, headlines, metadata, internal linking, and other digital best practices to maximize reach, engagement, and discoverability

Work closely with the Product Owner to shape the overall content strategy, including defining article briefs, templates, and editorial guidelines

Maintain our content in compliance with highest responsible gambling standards and applicable state gambling regulations

Collaborate with SEO, social, and product teams to maximize traffic and engagement

Identify trending topics, keyword opportunities, and gaps in existing coverage

Build a dedicated team of journalists and high-tier contributors

Source, onboard, and manage a network of freelance writers to supplement coverage as needed

Assign stories and provide editorial guidance and feedback to ensure content meets brand standards, compliance requirements, and quality expectations

Required

5+ years of experience as an iGaming or sports betting journalist, writer, or editor, with at least 2 years in an editorial leadership role

Deep expertise of US iGaming landscape, including sports betting, online casino, sweepstakes, with insight into market trends, audience behavior, and competitive dynamics

Strong understanding of responsible gambling principles and relevant regulatory requirements, ensuring all content promotes safe play and complies with applicable state and international laws

Extensive knowledge across multiple US sports leagues and their fanbases

Proven ability to write fast, clean, and insightful copy under deadline pressure

Familiarity with SEO-driven content creation and tools like Google Trends, Ahrefs, or Semrush

Solid understanding of digital publishing platforms (CMS, analytics, WordPress, etc.)
