Manager, Field Application Engineering
Plug Power Inc. is a leader in hydrogen-based solutions, and they are seeking a Manager, Field Application Engineering to support business development and sales efforts. This role involves designing and implementing hydrogen solutions while leading a team of field application engineers and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Identify and define hydrogen system solutions—including electrolyzer systems, fuel cells, and balance-of-plant equipment—for various customer applications
Develop technical proposals and feasibility assessments in collaboration with sales, engineering, and product management teams
Partner with OEM partners, integrators, and EPC contractors to qualify and implement hydrogen and electrolyzer technologies
Lead a team of 5 field application engineers to deliver results against target
Gather market intelligence and translate them into clear and concise requirements that can be used by product teams to develop products
Manage technical aspects of the sales process, including filling out RFPs, representing Plug Power in front of clients as subject matter expert, and review technical guarantees in contracts
Lead technical reviews of RFPs and gap assessments for hydrogen projects, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements and recommend best practices
Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer within the organization
Represent the company professionally with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders
Perform other duties supporting hydrogen and clean energy innovation as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering
7+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within hydrogen production, electrolyzer systems, or clean energy technologies
5+ years leading a team of engineers
Strong project management background and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives to completion
Excellent communication and technical writing skills
Willingness to travel up to 30% to customer and project sites
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional integrity
