The Buck Institute for Research on Aging offers two Postbaccalaureate Programs for recent college graduates seeking a research career. The programs focus on Alzheimer's research and the biological drivers of aging, providing training and research opportunities.

Responsibilities
Study the processes governing aging that contribute to Alzheimer’s pathology
Develop novel treatment approaches
Investigate insights into critical molecular and biological drivers of aging
Translate research into new therapies to improve healthspan and combat diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cancer, and diabetes
Perform research assistant duties
Participate in training opportunities including a mentored research project
Qualification
Required
Recent college or university graduate
Participation is limited to US citizens and permanent residents for the SPARC Program
International students are eligible to apply via OPT for the Buck Postbaccalaureate Research Program
Completion of the online application in its entirety
CV or Resume limited to 2 pages highlighting prior laboratory or research experience
Personal Statement explaining interest in the Buck Institute and the programs, relevant skills, and connections between past research experiences and selected projects, limited to 2 pages
Scientific Statement highlighting prior research experience and specific contributions to projects, limited to 2 pages
Unofficial Transcript listing grades from all completed coursework including Fall 2025 term if applicable
At least one letter of recommendation submitted on behalf of the applicant
