Responsibilities

Supporting the ITSIS program working on active class surface ships and/or shore-based communication facilities
Using various technical tools to install, upgrade, remove and troubleshoot fiber optic cables and connectors
Installing, operating, maintaining, repairing and modifying equipment
Performing maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations
Analyzing and evaluating products and related performance
Troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time
Installing, upgrading and removing products ensuring coordinated engineering field change
Maintaining effective customer communications and relations
Providing onsite training of customer support personnel
Applying understanding of production and processes to assignments
Performing a variety of complicated tasks
Assisting in the development and use of technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports
Performing duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignment

Required

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance and DBIDS base access throughout employment
Must have experience troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time
Must be able to work from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts or work orders as well as written and verbal instruction
Must be capable of using various electrical/electronic measuring instruments
High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 2 years of related experience
Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty

Preferred

Prefer candidates with an active Secret clearance or above
Prefer candidates with at least 4- 8 years of experience
Prefer candidates who have marine electrician experience for installing, repairing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables and connectors on Navy and other marine vessels IAW NAVSEA STD 009-123 Fiber Optic and/or NAVSEA STD 009-073 Multi-pin Copper
Experience in Shore C4I is preferred
Experience in large NIWC/SPAWAR integrated installation contracts is preferred
Prefer technical/professional certifications
Prior Quality Assurance certifications are preferred
Shipyard Competent Person (SCP) certification is preferred
Prior AIT or active-duty experience on current active class ships is preferred
Candidates possessing a current U.S. Travel passport are preferred
