Railroad Track Engineer

Network Rail Consulting (NRC) is the international consultancy arm of Network Rail, focusing on delivering consultancy services in the transportation sector. They are looking for an experienced Railroad Track Engineer to lead and develop technical and maintenance capabilities for railroad infrastructure, while supporting business development efforts in North America.

Responsibilities

Identify, organize, and lead technical resources to provide the necessary consultant skills and resources to meet deliver client requirements, drawing from employees in NRC, Network Rail, and external partners
Act as NRC technical lead for client (where required)
Participate and lead project teams in presentation and interview sessions
Lead and support delivery of those projects as assigned
Maintain and continually develop an industry network of people and potential projects for the NRC North American business development pipeline
Undertake all activities in a safe environment and in accordance with NRC operating procedures
Complete projects on time and to budget achieving or exceeding projected cash flow
Build strong client relationships and receive strong client satisfaction ratings

Required

Degree in engineering or equivalent experience
Demonstrate overarching understanding of all railroad infrastructure engineering with expertise in at least one specific field
Experience in managing and performing work on railroad infrastructure-related projects
Substantial experience in railway asset management and maintenance
Relevant years' experience in managing and successfully complying with Federal Railroad Administration rules
Outstanding and persuasive communications skills in written and verbal form, with excellent skills in developing and making presentations to groups
Ability to positively engage and collaborate with NR and NRC staff, partner staff, client staff and ability to work across a multidisciplinary team and establish relationships at all levels
Ability and track record of meeting deadlines and working well under pressure
Strong commercial focus regarding business development and contract management

Preferred

Experience as a consultant in transportation
Experience working in an international setting
Understanding of the financial and economic underpinnings of infrastructure investment
Experience working for or with both public and private organizations
