SVP, Tax-Exempt Lending Manager - RJ Bank

Responsibilities
Develop and execute business strategies for tax-exempt banking, targeting state and local governments, municipalities, educational institutions and nonprofit organizations
Cultivate and manage relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor
Obtains, interprets and evaluates financial information to determine credit worthiness
Understands and can negotiate complex loan structures and guaranty agreements, price loans and obtain necessary credit approvals
Handles difficult negotiations and credit assessments on an independent basis
Contacts customers and prospects to market bank deposit products
Monitors existing loans to ensure compliance with terms and takes corrective action on variances
Develops and maintains a balanced and sound loan portfolio in conformance with established policies, strategies and procedures
Creates a pipeline of business of secure, profitable loans and deposits
Provides guidance and direction to less experienced lenders in analyzing financial data and evaluating credit worthiness
Interprets, applies and recommends changes to credit policies and procedures
Advises senior management on complex tax-exempt lending issues
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to originate, structure and monitor a wide variety of the most complex tax-exempt loans
Ability to cultivate and manage key client relationships
Ability to advise senior management on tax-exempt lending developments and issues
Ability to influence strategic direction and develop tactical plans
Ability to complete complex assignments with substantial latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions in compliance with lending parameters
Ability to provide comprehensive solutions to complex problems or needs
Ability to evaluate end results for achieving goals and objectives
Extensive coordination with the Public Finance Group to develop, sell or service products to external tax-exempt customers
