Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain SAP HANA database systems across development, QA, and production environments

Manage database schema, table design, and object creation to support business applications

Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries for efficiency

Proactively monitor and optimize system performance, memory usage, and storage allocation

Perform database tuning to improve query performance and system response times

Analyze execution plans and work with application teams to optimize SQL queries

Implement and manage database backup strategies, including full, incremental, and differential backups

Design and test disaster recovery plans to ensure high availability and minimal downtime

Perform system recovery in case of data corruption, hardware failures, or other incidents

Implement and enforce database security policies to protect sensitive data

Manage user access, roles, and privileges in compliance with company and regulatory requirements

Conduct audits to ensure database environments adhere to compliance standards

Plan and execute HANA database upgrades, patches, and migrations

Support SAP application upgrades that impact database systems

Lead efforts to migrate data from legacy systems to SAP HANA

Work closely with application, infrastructure, and SAP Basis teams to align database operations with business needs

Provide technical guidance to junior DBAs and assist in skill development

Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner to support SLAs

Maintain up-to-date documentation for database configurations, processes, and best practices

Create technical runbooks, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides
