Tenure Track Assistant Professor specializing in Geomatics
The University of Missouri-Saint Louis is a premier public research university seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Geomatics. The successful candidate will develop new curricula, establish a research program, and mentor students in geospatial sciences.

Responsibilities
Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in geomatics (e.g., GNSS/geodesy, surveying, photogrammetry, LiDAR, remote sensing, geospatial data analytics, and Geospatial Artificial Intelligence/GeoAI), using project-based and experiential learning approaches to align with current best practices
Contribute to curriculum development, student advising, and mentoring
Establish an externally funded research program in geomatics; publish in peer-reviewed journals; mentor graduate students; and build collaborative research projects across UMSL and with our partner institutions
Provide service to the UMSL Geospatial Collaborative, university, and profession, including committee participation, program development, peer review, and leadership in relevant professional organizations
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Geospatial Engineering, or a closely related field (completed by the start date)
Demonstrated teaching experience in geomatics or closely related courses
Evidence of research productivity through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and other scholarly outputs
Evidence of potential to secure external funding for research
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Only U.S. citizens are eligible for this position
Preferred
A record of securing external funding
Professional certification or licensure (e.g., Professional Land Surveyor, Professional Engineer, Certified Photogrammetrist)
Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students and leading interdisciplinary research teams
Interest or experience in curriculum innovation, including advanced geomatics topics such as GNSS/geodesy, photogrammetry, LiDAR/remote sensing, geospatial data analytics, and GeoAI
