Responsibilities

Acting as the first point of contact with Partners for all Partner Draw related matters including, but not limited to: confirming bank information, communicating with Partner when monthly tax and/or deductions exceed gross draw payable, replying to all e-mails, and providing succinct and detailed explanation for any questions pertaining to the Draw statement
Tracking and preparing various calculations, billings, and payments related to retired Partners, including, but not limited to: Of Counsel worked-time payments, capital payouts, and tax and benefits collections
Working closely with Equity Accounting to assist with monthly reconciliation of deduction upload process from Equity 3E to Partner Draw system, while conducting monthly Partner Draw calculation and validation to ensure Partner payments are processed accurately
Assisting and preparing month-end close journal entries to accurately report Firm expenses related to Partner Draw
Updating, modifying, and testing existing Partner Draw and other financial reporting software and proposing innovative solutions to problems
Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Qualification

Required

Demonstrate thorough knowledge of bookkeeping procedures such as posting, balancing, debits and credits, and journal entries
Exhibit thorough knowledge of accounting principles
Possess the ability to perform mathematical functions such as calculating ratios, and knowledge of excel macros and formulas

Preferred

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, preferably
A minimum of four (4) years' relevant experience at a global multi-office law firm, accounting firm, or other professional services organization
Experience working with partnership financials, billing, and cash management, preferably
Experience with Elite 3E or comparable accounts payable software application, preferably
Experience with Institutional finance and accounting systems, preferably
