Software Engineer - Level T03/T04 (Space Systems)
Northrop Grumman is a leading aerospace and defense technology company seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join their Ruby team in Manhattan Beach, CA. The role involves designing, developing, documenting, refactoring, testing, and debugging applications software for a Ground Segment, while supporting program maturity and milestones to achieve mission objectives.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, document, refactor, test, and debug applications software for a Ground Segment
Support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission
Operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment
Handle diverse assignments with efficiency
Find unique solutions and work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
Qualification
Required
5 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 3 years with Master's degree; 1 year with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree for Principal Software Engineer (T03)
8 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 6 years with Master's degree; 4 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree for Senior Principal Software Engineer (T04)
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance at the time of application, and ability to successfully pass a polygraph
Experience with Java, C++ and Python (or similar scripting language) in a cloud environment
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Automated testing experience
Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
Preferred
STEM degree
Adjudicated CI or FS polygraph
Proficient with Python, Perl, Rust, Docker/Kubernetes, Cloud, DevOps, CI/CD
Proficient with Atlassian tools (i.e., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Familiar with Kubernetes cluster software deployment
Experience with automated test tools (i.e., Cucumber, Behave, Eggplant, Selenium, Cypress)
Experience developing software for complex near real-time ground systems in mission domain
