Responsibilities
Provide onsite support to DARPA's Strategic Technology Office (STO)
Aid in the management and development of programs in high-risk, high-reward research and development (R&D) projects
Proactive communication, both written and oral, with key stakeholders including performers, supporting organizations, military transition partners, and international collaborators
Function as part of a strongly collaborative scientific and technical team
Act independently to complete time-critical tasks
Scientific and technical analysis
Development of broadly understandable explanatory documentation for deeply technical programs
Monitoring of ongoing research and development programs
Reporting to office leadership
Identifying national security challenges
Participating in the development of portfolio-level strategies to address them
Qualification
Required
A Department of Defense TS/SCI clearance
Demonstrated ability at leading cross-functional teams
Deep technical fluency along with executive-level communication
Experience in field test planning and execution
Ability to work with military transition partners
Technical expertise is required in one or more of the following areas: High frequency over-the-horizon radar, High frequency communications, Undersea acoustic surveillance or propagation, Space weather and ionospheric radio propagation, Electronic warfare
Domestic and foreign travel is required
Preferred
Technical expertise in the following areas is desirable: Radio frequency hardware/software/software-defined systems, Electronic protection, Instrumentation or radar operations, Radio propagation / polar region radio propagation
