Start in 2026 SummerNextPort.AI is a leading U.S.-based global infrastructure advisor specializing in the planning and design of facilities that shape and serve our coastlines, harbors, and rivers. They are seeking an Intern with a Structural Engineering focus to provide support to design engineers involved in engineering and administration of projects related to waterfront and bridge design and analysis.
Logistics & Supply Chain
Responsibilities
Analysis, design, inspection of waterfront and transportation structures
Structural analysis and design with steel, reinforced concrete and composite materials
Prestressed concrete analysis and design
Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports
Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
Calculate construction quantities
Work closely with other engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects
In-office construction administration including review of shop drawings and technical submittals
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil engineering with a Structural Emphasis
Must be a rising Junior in your Bachelor's degree program
Working towards an EIT certification
Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Preferred
A Master's degree student is preferred
At least one previous related internship preferred but not required
Ability to perform field investigations a plus
Any experience in finite element analysis, AutoCAD, or consulting a plus
