Responsibilities
Assign, oversee and perform duties to operate and maintain all traffic signals, school flashers and communications systems
Assign preventative and emergency maintenance schedule for all traffic signals and school flashers
Develop and monitor safety programs
Install, repair, maintain and test various traffic control and communication equipment
Participate in 24 hour rotating emergency on call shifts
Collaborate with contractors to ensure intersections are built to City/State specifications
Serve as inspector for various types of traffic signal construction projects
Locate and mark underground traffic facilities for street construction purposes
Qualification
Required
IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician II
IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector certifications, or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
Some college coursework in relevant subjects (Electronics, Engineering, etc.)
5 years of experience in the traffic signal field
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
Valid Class C Texas driver's license
IMSA Work Zone certification (or approved equivalent)
IMSA Traffic Signal Level II certification
IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector certification
Preferred
Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related area
7 years of experience in the traffic signal field with a strong understanding of traffic signal systems
1 year lead or supervisory experience
