Global Benchmarking Manager

Responsibilities
Plan teardowns in accordance with corporate cost objectives, and program and functional input
Procure vehicles and parts to support benchmarking activities in a timely manner within budget
Ensure teardown processes are done consistently globally and communicated to our customers in a clear, timely, and effective manner
Conduct deep-dive analysis into design cost gaps to the competition
Ensure all trend and cost reduction ideas are captured in our data management tools with required supporting documents
Oversee the establishment and maintenance of world-class benchmarking facilities ensuring optimal environments for workshops, part analysis, and vehicle displays, while upholding safety standards
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous refinement of comprehensive frameworks for measuring and improving benchmarked efficiency delivery
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish robust methodologies for tracking, analyzing, and reporting efficiency metrics using existing data sources
Champion process improvements and the development/enhancement of tools and dashboards to improve transparency of study results and opportunities
Utilize Key Process Indicators (KPIs) to continuously assess what is working and what may need to be improved also using key stakeholder feedback
Analyze and optimize Budget Spend, Benchmarking Timing, Process Mapping, and External Partner Return on Investment to improve procurement efficiency, driving asset reuse, and optimizing the total cost of doing benchmarking studies
Partner with Internal and External benchmarking partners to improve study scope, data gathering, and communication of results
Stay updated on developments and innovations of competitive designs within the industry
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering required
Ability to make decisions and trade-offs
Ability to build strong effective relationships with cross-functional teams (Program, Studio, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing and Suppliers)
Able to manage multiple issues on multiple commodities effectively and efficiently
Outstanding communication skills (open, clear and inclusive) including senior management presentations
Exceptional organizational and delegation skills with a proven ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously and ensure timely follow-through
Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated ability to deliver results
High integrity with effective coaching and mentoring skills
Availability to travel globally as required
Preferred
Masters in Engineering or MBA preferred
5+ years of experience in a cross-functional product development, vehicle integration or cost engineering role
Strong fundamentals and knowledge of Design and Design Cost Drivers
Proficiency in analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Qlik, Benchmarking databases A2Mac1, Caresoft etc.)
Experience with leading diverse, global teams
