Design Safety Basis Engineer

Responsibilities

Responsible for independently performing analysis and design activities in support of facility operations and future projects
Performs chemical dose consequence calculations utilizing modelling software including independent design reviews
Perform analysis, calculations; and develop designs in support of the assigned facility and engineering programs and projects
Performs independent design review of evaluations and analyses, including verification of assumptions and the adequacy of calculations
Provides technical support for design, installation and maintenance of site projects to ensure that system/equipment operates according to specifications
Communicates and works effectively with other organizations to resolve technical issues and to implement engineering outputs
Apply sound engineering judgment and professional rigor in the performance of all analyses and assigned tasks

Required

Bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering, nuclear engineering, or equivalent
2+ years of direct work experience with 2+ years at a nuclear facility
Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required
Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week

Preferred

Experience performing chemical dose consequence analyses
A Master's Degree or PhD from an accredited college or university in Physics, Nuclear or Chemical Engineering
Professional Engineering (PE) License obtained by accredited examination
5 or more years of related work experience: of which 2 years experience is in a nuclear facility
2+ Years of experience at a Part 70 licensee
Design Safety Basis Development, HAZOP, Documented Safety Analysis experience
