Responsibilities
Lead and manage field survey crews on various projects including boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys
Operate and maintain survey equipment such as total stations, GPS units, data collectors, and levels
Interpret and execute survey plans and instructions from project managers and engineers
Ensure accurate and complete data collection and documentation
Perform field calculations and verify measurements for accuracy
Maintain detailed field notes and records
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
Train and mentor junior crew members
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or related field preferred, but not required
Minimum of 3–5 years of field survey experience
Proficiency with survey instruments and software (e.g., Trimble, Leica, AutoCAD Civil 3D)
Strong understanding of surveying principles, methods, and legal requirements
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and maps
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Physical ability to work outdoors in various conditions and lift equipment
Preferred
Experience with drone surveying and LiDAR technology
Familiarity with GIS systems
Certifications such as CST (Certified Survey Technician) or LSIT (Land Surveyor in Training)
