Responsibilities
Supervises professional and technical engineering staff in the Design Engineering Units
Develops, plans, and recommends water system construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance programs under the guidance, direction, or planning of the Managing Engineer
Recommends policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and economy of operations
Recommends water system design and alterations to private contractors, consultants, and representatives of other area agencies, using general guidelines and specific directions
Recommends staff training needs
Writes technical and non-technical reports and correspondence as required
Maintains fiscal control of the approved budget as related to assigned projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Two years of experience as an engineer in major water system design projects
Two years of supervisory experience in professional engineering design activities
Possession of a New York Professional Engineer's License is required at the time of appointment
Possession of a New York State Class D operator's license is required at the time of appointment
